I used to listen to this song driving my son home from school (the real version, not my version), and I loved it from the first time I heard it — that “when I’m back in Chicago I feel it” hook is pretty smooth. And like a lot of you, I was dumbfounded when I discovered the guy singing it was little Steve from Stranger Things. (Little to me anyway; as far as that show goes, I was one-season-and-done).
I tried a few versions but landed on this one. I didn’t do anything crazy here…just rocked it up a little and let the lead guitar play the vocals. I had a little fun with the album cover. If you don’t understand it: Djo’s album cover for “DECIDE,” which is the album the song comes from, is a hand holding a magic 8-ball, and the cover of a remix I saw showed a couple of the decision dice soaked in the blue juice of a magic 8-Ball lying on the ground, so I figured I’d pile on by having Kavorto drinking the 8-Ball juice.
